Future Proofing
I had inherited an 14″ M1-Pro 16GB x 4TB MacBook Pro.
This was a capable laptop, but certain functions took too long to work, due to memory constraint.
The 2nd user market for M1s is awesome at the moment, with machines not too old to be serviceable, whilst old enough to not command the money anymore.
I was able to pick up a 16″ M1-Max 64GB x 8TB MacBook Pro.
Things on this laptop just work, with very little waiting on anything.
With most music software these days able to use the GPUs as well as the CPUs, whilst not up with the latest machines core count this model has 10 CPU & 32 GPU Cores.
